Due to COVID-19, most of the Plano Parks & Recs Summer Camp offerings have been cancelled. If we are made aware of any sport-specific summer camps, we will provide the information here.
2020 Plano West Football - Parents: This message is to inform you that Coach Soukup at Plano West has opened up a Football Orientation for incoming 9th grade boys at the end of this month. This course is now available on the City of Plano website at www.planoparks.org. The Orientation will be held at Plano West on Monday-Thursday, July 27-30, from 6pm – 9 pm. Here is a complete description which is also available on the website. If you have an incoming 9th grader interested in playing football in the fall, please consider registering him using the Registration link at the top of the planoparks.org page. When doing your search, enter activity code 33507 in the box.
This orientation is an opportunity to start your season a step ahead of the competition. Boys will be coached by the Plano West varsity football staff in the fundamentals of the Wolfpack offensive and defensive playbooks. This is a must for any and all incoming 9th grade football players at Jasper and Shepton High Schools.
A waiver must be signed for each participant. This can be obtained from http://www.plano.gov/DocumentCenter/View/17879. Turn in signed form to Coach Soukup at check-in on first day. Wear athletic shoes, cleats, and shorts. Water bottle must have name on it and not be shared. Meet at indoor facility north of school.
Plano West football is committed to following UIL, TEA, and local government regulations and suggested actions to keep our students and coaches safe. All equipment used will be sanitized regularly. Safe distancing of our athletes will be considered in the set-up of each drill/station.
Students must have face coverings. When appropriate, students are expected to wear them correctly over both nose and mouth. Temperatures will be taken at check-in each day. If this Orientation must be cancelled due to developing COVID concerns, a full refund will be made.”
